The Glossary of Women in Revolutionary America. DEBROAH SAMSON- Born in Plymouth,Massachusetts.She disquised herself as a man and served in the army for three years.She was identified when she had a extremely bad cold.The doctor soonly realized it and told General George Washington.She gave her some advice of how good she did and a discharge. RACHEL AND GRACE MARTIN- Disquised themselves as two british soliders and asailed a british courier on his guards.Then, released two men and they did not even know they are women. ANNA WARNER- Wife of captain Elijah Bailey, got the name of "The heroine of Groton" because of her fearless efforts in the terrible masacre at Fort Griswarld in Conneticut. MARGARET CORBIN- Stepped up to artillery during attack on Fort Washington. In July of 1779 she was awardered a pension from the Congress. ANGELICA VROOMAN- During the battle of Fort Washington, sat in a tent for over 2 days attending for injuries that were mostly bullet wounds. ANNA WARNER BAILY- Born on October 1758 in Grotton, Connecuit. She was married to Elijah Bailey. In Fort Griswald her uncle was badly injured and Anne had to walk three miles to get her aunt and husband. She had to settle three horses all by herself. ANNA TROTTER BAILY- born in Liverpool,New England as Anne Harris. She was married by Richer Trotter. The ride in 1791 is what she is most famous for. A runner told the Generals at Ft. Lee that the Indians were coming. Amuntion was very low, so Anne had to take a 100 mile trail ride. It was a very dangerous place but she still did it and came back with no harn done. In 1861, Charles Robb wrote a poem in her memory called "Anne Bailey's Ride"
